During the rehearsal for the evening show, Whitney gave such an amazing performance that the entire crew gave her a very heartfelt applause and called for an encore. Whitney was young and reserved, but she was moved enough to repeat the performance.

I met the Great Tina Turner at Bolic Sound, the Turners studio in Inglewood when Ike and his musicians were recording. I was there to do an interview with Tina and as we were talking I felt tension in the studio. I asked her if we could go out and take some photos in the afternoon light. Tina was wearing jeans and she had hardly any make up. She was very sweet, but there was some sadness in her eyes. She broke up from Ike not so long after this photo.
Alanis Morissette in Austin, Texas, Aug 29, 1995. Her acclaimed album, Jagged Little Pill had just been released and Marina Rota, at Warner, managed to get me an interview in Austin, Texas. I wanted to meet this new star before she arrived in Los Angeles when the world would discover her. We met at the hotel. “Shall we walk down by the river? She invited me and we did the interview under a bridge At the end she gave me this smile. Jagged Little Pill went on to sell nearly million copies.

This photo became Italy’s PHOTO magazine cover, September issue 1987. I had been hired by Warner to shoot her live concerts, but she did not wanted to see any photographers. So I left and for PHOTO I wrote a spicy story that the editor titled it: A Capricious Rock Star. September 1987 was Madonna first visit to Italy, the country of the family Ciccone.
