Mel Gibson has returned to acting for the first time in 6 years - as he was busy directing The Passion of The Christ and Apocalypto.

“To take a pause, he said, is good for art sake.” Whatever you say Mel, but I know that it’s great to see you back on the screen again.

In The Edge Of Darkness we are treated to Gibson playing a Boston cop determined to wipe out whoever shot his daughter.

As an actor Mel has also finished a movie with Jodie Foster and he  is now embarking on a thriller in Mexico. 3 films back to back before he gets his teeth into a lifelong dream: do direct the ultimate Viking movie.

“I have never seen a Viking movie that does it for me” he told me.  “So I decided to make one. A movie that puts the V in Viking, that scares the living shit out of you. Secretly I want to chop up a convent” he added with a sinister smile.
