Genesis: The Fox Head
Genesis: The Fox Head

I have a room in my house that I affectionally call, “The rock ‘n roll room”, where my wife, the unbelievable Cheryl, has amassed all my photography from the old days of touring, writing and photographing rock bands. We used to called them pop groups. The Beatles were a pop group, un gruppo pop, we call them in Italy. I used to send to Italy my photo slides with my stories to BIG in 1967 and Ciao 2001 from 1971. The Beatles got married and broke up as Apple was going bankrupt in 1970. But some of those slides were left behind, and my wife now has helped me to collect them and put them in a wall of filing cabinets.
Every-now and then I go and look. and I come up with an image, a memory of a great concert, a good interview, a meet with another good artist.
This is Genesis performing in London in October 1972. Peter Gabriel wore a red dress belonging to his wife Jill and a fox head to promote the album “Foxtrot”. These were the early days of a clever band that found mass acceptance in Italy and Belgium before England. This photo became an icon of that period...
